While Jennifer is sharing her personal story, she writes in such a way that her words transported me into her world. I am certain that this written work has the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and I do not believe one can read it without being moved and challenged. Throughout the book, I was often moved to tears, convicted, and encouraged. Jennifer has mentioned that the Lord prompted her to publish her story, and there is truth in her words. It did not take long before the critic fell silent, and the Holy Spirit began working. I flipped the book open and began to read. Finally, I picked it up and prayed that the Lord would speak to my heart through her words. When I received my complimentary copy, I stared at it for a couple of days, trying to silence the critic in my head. How would reading her story strengthen my marriage or the marriages of those close to me? I knew her story (or at least parts of it) and couldn’t imagine what she would share in her book that wasn’t already available on her blog. I will admit, however, that prior to reading the book, I was somewhat skeptical about this book’s possible impact. Even though I don’t normally provide book reviews on my blog, I knew I wanted to offer her similar support in return. By asking me to contribute blog articles to her site and reviewing my book, she has strengthened my confidence and authenticity. Jennifer is a source of encouragement to me when it comes to my writing journey. Her latest book, The Unveiled Wife: Embracing Intimacy with God and Your Husband , hits the shelves on Tuesday and I cannot speak highly enough about this resource. Our interactions face-to-face showed me that her heart for the Lord, her husband, and other wives is much larger than her ministry platform. Through the e-mails and phone calls we exchanged prior to our meeting, I knew she was sweet and encouraging. Last year at a blogging conference, I finally met Jennifer Smith (aka The Unveiled Wife) after a year of being online friends. Discover through Jennifer's story how God can bring you through it all to a place of transformation. They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony… Revelation 12:11 If you are feeling disappointment or even despair about your marriage, the heart-cry of this book is: You are not alone. How did Jennifer and her husband survive the painful times? What did they do when they were tempted to call it quits? How did God miraculously step in during the darkest hour to rescue and redeem them, tearing down the veil once and for all? The Unveiled Wife is a real-life love story one couple's refreshingly raw, transparent journey touching the deep places in a marriage that only God can reach. Trapped by fear and insecurity, and feeling totally alone, Jennifer cried out to God: What am I doing wrong? Why is this happening to us? It was as if a veil had descended between her and her husband, and between her and God-one that kept her from experiencing the fullness of love. Instead, they were marked by disappointment and pain. But the first years of marriage were nothing like she'd imagined. She dreamed of closeness, of being fully known and loved by her husband. As a young bride, Jennifer Smith couldn't wait to build her life with the man she adored.
